Standard stars: CCD photometry, transformations and comparisons We discuss variations of the atmospheric extinction coefficients andtransformation equations to the standard UBVRI system based onobservations of standard stars during 1996-97 at Siding SpringObservatory using a thinned SITe CCD and coloured glass filters. In thetransformation from the initial natural system to the Landolt version ofthe standard system, a large nonlinear term related to the Balmerdiscontinuity was required for the U transformation. We then modifiedthe U filter, and the subsequent transformation to the SAAO version ofthe standard UBVRI system had only small nonlinear correction terms forU, B, and I. The correction terms relating to U and B are evidently dueto the Balmer discontinuity, while that relating to I seems to be due tothe Paschen discontinuity at a wavelegth of approximately 8200 Å.We also compared the results with Landolt's observations, and confirmedthe difference between the two sets of standard stars (SAAO andLandolt).
| UBVRI photometry of the FK5 Extension Catalogue Stars UBVRI photometry in the Kron-Cousins system for 272 stars of theExtension Catalogue of the Fifth Fundamental Star Catalogue (FK5 stars)in the declination zone +7 deg to -90 deg is presented. Tables 1-2 arealso available in electronic form at the CDS via anonymous ftp tocdsarc.u-strasbg.fr (130.79.128.5) or viahttp://cdsweb.u-strasbg.fr/Abstract.html Based on observations made atthe European Southern Observatory, La Silla, Chile.
| Secondary standard stars for UVBY beta CCD photometry Accurate standard uvby indices are presented for 73 southern B, A, F andG stars in the $V$ magnitude range 8.2 to 10.9. They cover all threetransformation regions of the $uvby$ system (Olsen \cite[1983]{Olsen1})well. Standard $\beta$ indices are included for the 55 B, A, and F starsin the sample. Our results provide a useful set of secondary standardsfor uvby beta CCD photometry with southern hemisphere 1-2 m classtelescopes. A critical comparison with published photometry, in generalbased on fewer observations, is given. Based on observations made at theEuropean Southern Observatory, La Silla, Chile. Tables 3, 4, 5 are alsoavailable in electronic form at the CDS via anonymous ftp tocdsarc.u-strasbg.fr (130.79.128.5) or viahttp://cdsweb.u-strasbg.fr/Abstract.html

| A color-magnitude diagram for the Large Magellanic Cloud cluster Hodge 11 A search for RR Lyrae variables in the vicinity of the old LargeMagellanic Cloud (LMC) cluster Hodge 11 has resulted in the discovery ofonly one variable, which is probably a field star. A color-magnitudediagram (CMD) confirms that the cluster is very metal poor, Fe/H = -2.04+/- 0.2, with E(V-I) = 0.10 +/- 0.02. The distribution of stars on thehorizontal branch (HB) is skewed to the extent that only blue HB starsappear to be present - these have a bifurcated grouping, as in M15.There are a few extremely blue stars that appear to be on a hotterextension of the HB - as they have no field counterparts these stars arelikely cluster members. If the LMC distance modulus is assumed to be18.5 mag, and a geometric correction corresponding to the position ofHodge 11 of -0.09 mag is applied, then Mv(HB) = 0.44 +/- 0.12, inexcellent agreement with that found for other old LMC clusters. Thesurrounding field population mostly has age 2-3 Gyr and Fe/H is about -0.5; there is a significant break in the luminosity function at about 2Gyr in that there are only a few younger stars. A small cluster nearHodge 11 has an age of 1.5 Gyr.
| UBVRI photometry of FKSZ stars. III UBVRI photometry in the Kron-Cousins system is presented for 118 starsin the Catalogue of Fundamental Faint Stars (Zverev, 1957) in thedeclination zone between -60 and -90 degrees. The observations were madebetween September, 1984 and March, 1987 at the European SouthernObservatory at La Silla, Chile. Tables of the photometric data aregiven, including star number, V magnitude, spectral types, and (B-V),(U-B), (V-R), and (R-I) color indices.

| UBVRI photometry of FKSZ stars. II The results of UBVRI photometry for 169 stars of the Faint FundamentalStars Catalog (Zverev, 1957) in the declination zone lambda of between-30 and -60 deg are presented. Observations were obtained between May1984 and February 1987 using the 50-cm ESO telescope at La Silla.Tabular data presented include the number of the star in the E-regions,the V magnitude, the (B-V), (U-B), (V-R), and (R-I) colors, and thespectral types.
